ERGObaby was initially developed out of a personal need when Karin Frost, owner and designer, gave birth to her son in 2001 and saw the need for a comfortable baby carrier. With help and feedback from other parents, the ERGObaby carrier was born. Word of mouth has expanded this single carrier design into a globally recognized family of baby carriers and accessories.
The ERGObaby’s Carrier supports a natural sitting position for babies, eliminating compression of the spine and hips that can be caused by unsupported suspension. The baby carrier also balances the baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent. The ERGObaby Carrier can be used for babies from infancy - with the Infant Insert - to 40 pounds, enabling parents to use only one carrier for all of their babywearing years.
The ERGObaby HandsFree System consists of the Baby Carrier, Backpack, Front Pouch, and/or Changing Pad. All components may be used individually, or can be attached to the Baby Carrier, eliminating the need for a diaper bag or purse.
