Moving Babies Forward

As studies continue to show the importance of tummy time for a baby's development, a popular toy for infants in the 1960's that boosts the time a child spends on their tummy has found its way back to the market. Winner of a 2019 Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) Innovation Award, the new and improved Crawligator makes tummy time fun and promotes natural crawling movement for infants while building strength. Designed to meet today's federal child safety standards, it is now on sale at

Amazon.com and at TheCrawligator.com, and child development experts are big fans.

Originally created by a major toy company in the 1960's, the Crawligator became a popular crawling toy for infants, helping to naturally develop mobility, gross motor skills and muscle strength. It encourages bilateral coordination as the child's arms and legs make reciprocal movements, or a crawling motion.

Experts, including Dr. Giselle Tadros, a pediatric physical therapist, say the Crawligator "is a fun way to promote strength and development." She added: "I especially love the sleek design and the fact that safety specs are on point."

In fall 2018, Stacey Kohler introduced the Crawliagator at the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Annual Conference and it quickly sold out. In January 2019, the Crawligator won a 2019 Family Choice Award. In Spring 2019, the Crawligator won the JPMA Innovation Award and a Readers Favorite Award from Baby & Children's Product News. In Dec. 2019 ABC World News Tonight with David Muir's Made In America: Holiday Edition featured the Crawligator as the one Christmas gift under the tree made in America.

The Crawligator retails for $49.95 and is available in two colors - pink and green at www.thecrawligator.com
